Joann Ransom will be presenting "Kete Horowhenua : the story of the District as told by its people" at VALA2008. Walter McGinnis will attend and be available to answer questions about the Kete software.

Kete goes to Melbourne!  Joann and myself will be taking part in the VALA conference.  Here's how the VALA homepage describes the conference:

The VALA2008 14th Biennial Conference and Exhibition is the Australian forum where the use of technology in libraries is discussed and will feature invited overseas and Australian keynote speakers, plenary and concurrent sessions and an exhibition featuring the latest products from leading suppliers. The theme for this conference is Libraries / changing spaces, virtual places. VALA2008 will be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre, Melbourne, Australia from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 February 2008.

Joann will be giving a talk tomorrow, Tuesday the 5th about Kete Horowhenua as a part of the Engaging Communities session at 2pm. Here's the abstract of the talk.

I'll be available in Melbourne on Wednesday outside of the conference for anyone that wants to have a chat about Kete one-on-one.  Just drop me an email at walter -a t- katipo -d o t- co -d o t- nz.

Hope to see you in Melbourne,
