Topic: The Kete Project - How to Build our Dream

The tools for creating our dream website were developing in front of us and had a sexy new handle: web 2.0! We could have a database where people would be able to share and add to each other’s information – a website where :
  • People enter their own data : wikipedia.
  • People enter their records from their own PC : crowd sourcing.
  • People describe their material in their own words : natural language tags, not ‘approved’ subject headings. Call it folksonomy.
  • People add to, amplify or even contradict each other’s data – building a social network.
  • People use new technologies to keep in touch – like RSS feed.
