Topic: The Kete Project - Our Dream

Librarians in Horowhenua dreamed of a digital community database. We wanted :

  • A database in which anyone, anywhere, could find whatever was available about our district.
  • A database with material covering any aspect of life in our district : art, crafts, history, genealogy, culture, anecdotes
  • Material in any relevant format – text, audio, video, URL, etc.
  • A way to build it that didn’t require library staff to do all the data entry.
