It is mid January 2007 and the content preparation is really gathering speed – with over 8,125 photos scanned at the Levin library. So we will easily meet our target of 1,000 images at launch! We are also getting a huge effort from our volunteers – with 14 working at home typing up documents ranging from newspaper articles to the hand-written minutes of the first Levin Council meetings in 1906 and another six devoting their Thursday evenings to our working bees in the library. We have recently scanned a wonderful fragile old photo album containing beautiful, old, soft-focus photos from as far back as the 1880s with ducks, haystacks, children posed in paddocks ... this will be of great interest when Kete goes live.
