Progress is going really well on the software development; Walter has done a grand job! I am currently entering field names and dublin core fields into the admin / set up module. Also selecting which fields will apply for each item type, and building the templates for the creation of topics. Then .. we can can start populating the database! The initial seed items will be great; we will have 10,000 images when we have completed the data import from Past Perfect, and hundreds of typed documents waiting to be added alongside the pdf originals. Library staff are starting work on writing topics which we can use as examples of how to cluster items together. Meanwhile, Russ and Co. are starting to make it look gorgeous ...
