Topic: Discoverability enhanced

We carried out a major upgrade of the Kete site last night. The enhancements cover two major areas: discoverability of the database content, and administration of the homepage and help manual. DISCOVERABILITY
- Slideshow: The homepage now has a slideshow showing random images at 15 second intervals. You can access the full record by clicking on the image or advance through by clicking next. We will include a previous button as well in afew days.
- Contents by item type: The homepage now shows the database contents sorted by item type - previously accessed by clicking on the browse link.
- Recent Topics : The five most recently added or edited topics.
- Tag clouds : We can now elect to show tag clouds on the home page, generated from the collections tags. (I havn't turned this on as out tags are not extensive enough to be valuable yet!)
- We have made a complete change to the way the site is administered. The homepage is now a private Topic; only editable by the 'owner', in the same way the Adopt an Anzac basket is private. The help manual will be moved over to this new administration system over the next few days.
- The Featured Topics portion of the homepage is now edited using a text editor in exactly the same way as any other Topic, while the rest of the page is configured by turning options on or off, entering text into a box, or making a selection from a range of options.
