Topic: How do I get help with setting Kete up on my own (DIY with Support)?

Topic type:

An outline of issues around installing Kete on your own but with a vendors support.

Originally written by Walter McGinnis, Kete Project Lead for Katipo Communications, Ltd.

Your responsibilities:

  • The hardware and facilities to house it.
  • A suitable network connection.

Advantages:

  • You can offload large parts of the labour necessary to get a new Kete up and running, depending on what you negotiate with the vendor.
  • You don't necessarily need to know much about how the software works.
  • You own all the hardware and software required for your Kete installation and can hire another vendor if you aren't satisfied with your support.

Things to consider:

  • You have to pay a vendor.
  • You or your organisation may incur costs to provide an adequate machine, facility for the machine, and network connection.

Where do I find a vendor that provides support?  Check the Kete vendors page or look for a vendor with Ruby on Rails and Linux experience.

If you are a vendor, please add your information to the Kete vendors page.
